Original Artist Irene Cara

What A Feeling was originally written for the film Flashdance, released in 1983. The song is registered as Flashdance but was originally titled 'Flashdance... What A Feeling' although the word Flashdance does not appear in the lyrics.

The original recording features synthesizers very heavily in its arrangement and so has a very distinctive 1980s dance music sound. This arrangement for solo guitar is a very fresh take on the original version and strips the song down to its bare essentials and exposes the beautiful melody that lies beneath the huge production in the original version. This version is very serene and almost melancholic.

David's arrangement of What A Feeling was a huge success in America and garnered a huge amount of airplay.
