Darth Vader’s Death March

Today I played at a wedding in Sonning-On-Thames and, as promised to the Groom, I transcribed and played Darth Vader’s Death March for the Bride & Groom’s entrance (they entered together). I was cringing at the thought of playing this and how it would go down. In fact I must say, I felt a little embarrassed and didn’t know if the Bride knew about the choice of music! As I tentatively started to play Mr. Vader’s infamous March I realised it must have been a big joke between him and his friends and, if the Bride wasn’t aware, she took it in very good spirit! The atmosphere was great from then on for the whole day. Turns out they are both BIG star wars fans (see below)…

Otranto, Italy

I recently played at a wedding at Otranto Castle in Italy which was a fantastic venue to play in. I was on the terrace overlooking the turquoise sea playing romantic guitar as the sun was setting to the guests drinking champagne. This was made even more surreal by the fact that one of the guests was the amazing and iconic Grace Jones.

I flew to Brindisi airport the night before and stayed at a hotel by the beach, briefly calling in at the venue to make sure everything was in place for the following day. The weather was absolutely amazing. In fact, the ceremony took place at 5pm so as not to be too hot. I will write more on this wedding later…
